Les Mills Combat - week 5

5 weeks down....

I am over half way in the program.  Yahhoo!!!!

What did week 5 look like?

Well, it was basically cardio cardio & cardio.

It had none of the High Intensity Interval Training in it this week.  It was 45 - 60 minutes of kick boxing every day.

I'm good with that.

That means no Burpees!!!

And I did trade out my weekend Les Mills for my 10k.... the weekend workout was only the 30 minute video so I say this was a better trade off then what was called for.

I will say, I am a little frustrated that we are half way through & I'm supposed to be seeing some results.  I am, embarrassingly, the highest weight I have ever been in my life.

Hanging head in shame.

I'm not seeing the definition that they said I would see in my arms & abs.

Hanging head lower in shame.

I will say, my flexibility & my kicks are improving though.

& I will say, I'm enjoying my workouts.

But I want results.... sigh....

I'm trying not to give up.

I mean, I know the results are a little thwarted with Easter & Cadbury Egg season.

DANG YOU CADBURY EGGS!!!!

So I'm really trying to focus on nutrition with the program the last 4 weeks.

I'll be happy with ANY result... I NEED some sort of result.

My motivation is sagging.
My spirits are turning into despair.
I need some sort of return on the investment I'm putting into myself.

I don't think that's too much to ask....

I say it all the time... I truly mean it more then ever now... I'm still Pressing On!!!

  1. slow progress is better than no progress girly. and if your kicks and such are improving, that is a result / progress right there!! don't be so hard on yourself. and cadbury creme eggs for life ;)

  2. Don't hang your head in shame. It's awesome you've stuck with it for 5 weeks (that's more than I can say!). The main thing is you enjoy it. The results will come. Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs...ahhhh

  3. You may not think you are seeing results but I am seeing someone who is motivated and dedicated ( I know, I know, its not the same). But just think, anything after this tough stuff is just cake, right? (oops, probably not the best analogy but you know what I mean). Hang in there friend!

  4. Don't feel bad about it, some girls just have a harder time losing than others, I know this for a fact because I am one of them.
For me, it all comes down to calories in, I am like killer great at working out, but I totally suck at eating healthy and I am the first to admit it. I always eat too many calories each day, its a struggle I am working on.
So I totally feel your pain, but on the plus side as long as we are woking towards it, no matter how long it takes to get there, we are headed in the right direction.

  5. It's the jelly beans that kick my ass this time of year. I could eat bags of them. Why do they have to be so good and so addicting?! Great job keeping up with your Les Mills, keep at it!

  6. Great job with keeping up with your routine though girl! I know it must be frustrating when you're working so hard and not seeing the results you want, but hey at least you're able to do more like you said! I've always seen the best results when I'm mixing weights and cardio :).
