I stop exercising ... & basically fall apart...

So did everyone survive Thanksgiving?  Survive the shopping?

I did... barely...

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw the lovely picture I posted... of an IV poking out of my hand.

Good times.

Sorry I haven't been around here lately but I have this blog for the purpose of healthy stuff.  Exercise. Good nutrition. Encouragement.

None of those things have applied to me lately.

It literally all started the time I stopped working out.

Not even joking.

When I was on vacation in October I decided to take a working out break.  Well, I guess that was the worse mistake of my life because everything has gone downhill since.

My stomach started reacting badly... I mean BADLY the end of my vacation.

Now, I will say, I was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) when I was fairly young. But when I gave up meat about 3 years ago, my symptoms all went away. No problems at all. So this was weird to me going from diarrhea to constipation back & forth... & the stomach cramps... & the feeling yucky...

Forget an irritable bowel. I'm the irritated one.

My mom swears its my nerves that has kicked everything off because that last day of my vacation was also the time we started packing up my office & got ready for the office move that has made me literally sick to my stomach...

Plus, the diagnosis of my uncle getting pancreatic cancer.

I don't handle things well anyways.  But my stress has been a 12 on a scale of 1-10

Add in a cold in the middle of all this stomach stuff & I have felt like I'm pretty much dying the whole month of November.

Well, this past Tuesday brought a new pain in my side.  Let me tell you - don't google anything like that.  Everything with all my symptoms was heading to liver or pancreas issues.  Seriously?  Pancreas?.... Let's just take that stress level to a 15 now...

The pain was getting worse & worse. I couldn't walk without holding my side, would get sharp pains that would make me wince.  & then my nausea & stomach cramping was getting worse...

So yesterday morning, my hubs took  me to the ER.

They didn't really acknowledge my 30 day of fun stomach cramps & nausea & diarrhea.  But they did give me something for the nausea.  I also asked for a prescription to take home because who doesn't love something that will get rid of that feeling?

They did test me for pancreas or liver issues & I literally held my breath when the doc came in... but he told me everything was just fine.

IN YO FACE WEB MD & GOOGLE!!!!!

BUT...  he pretty much said he doesn't know what it was. That it could be a pulled muscle or a bruised rib... from what? I have no idea. I'm still not sure he's right about that. But apparently all my blood tests came back fine so nothing serious to worry about...

except that still lingering stomach cramps & diarrhea.

How I feel paying a few thousand dollars to find out I have a pulled muscle?
I don't think so...

My body knows how to party.

My mom still thinks its nerves.

I don't know why - maybe because when I thought of coming back to work, I get so choked up I can't talk & I literally cry.  Hmm... could I be stressed?

& in all of this, I still haven't worked out.... maybe 3 days the whole month of November.

That bites.

I really want to try & suck it up & get moving again.
Praying it gets my body back in gear, back to 'normal'

So yeah, I'm still here... hoping I can talk real soon about healthy things again.

Who wants to read about diarrhea every day?

  5. Oh wow, I am so sorry to hear of all the trouble you have been having. I know it must be hard not exercising right now, but at least you are listening to your body. I pray that you have a speedy recovery and get everything all figured out soon!

  6. Moms always attribute it to nerves. They have a crazy way of being right, because once you start worrying that you're carrying the zombie death virus and start googling symptoms, the nerves get worse. I hope you feel better soon. Those stomach issues are awful, but at least they did the tests and you know they ruled out major stuff. Take care of yourself!

  7. So sorry you have been feeling crappy lately ( no pun intended). We've been wondering where you've been lately. Glad the Dr doesn't think it's anything serious. And Oh, stay far away from web MD. As you know those diagnoses could be anything from a sprained ankle to seek medical attention immediately or you will explode! Glad to see you back friend!
