I had a goal... to try & move at least a mile every day or 10 minutes until the end of the year.
I lasted 16 days... even going on the treadmill at 10:00 on some nights to get it in...
Last night though, I didn't do it..
I failed...
I made it 16 days... a little over 2 weeks... & last night, it went down the toilet
I didn't even get take my work shoes & dress clothes off until 10:45 & I had to get ready for bed... while watching Scandal, of course...
I know excuses don't matter really. I was busy - I was editing pictures - I was watching a puppy & cleaning up pee & potty training... & didn't even eat dinner until 9:30pm...my low back & runners knee were both hurting...
none of it matters... I failed...
very similar to me looking in the mirror last night at my disappointment in myself |
In those instances, it feels like I gain an immediate 15 lbs too... how does that happen?
But I'm not perfect...
& I'm realizing that I've never gone 16 days in a row of continuous working out...
& now, I have a better goal - try & beat 16 days...
Its about picking yourself & trying again...
Great job on 16 days! I've done that myself, had a big goal and slipped early on. I finally learned a slip doesn't have to mean I'm a failure. It just means I'm incredibly busy and sometimes something has to give. I'll definitely pick it up the next day and I'll definitely not give myself a hard time about it because hello...who needs the stress?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it!
Your right Tess 16 days is Great
ReplyDeleteRather than thinking about the 1 day being a failure you had 16 days of victory! Besides...Even the Lord had a day of REST!! Maybe change your thought pattern and do every day move a least a mile BUT take 1 day off to REST. On that day pray, recover, and regenerate in Christ!
